Early Detection

Why Early Recognition Matters

Research shows that autism can be reliably detected as early as 18 months of age, and sometimes earlier. The earlier autism is identified, the sooner intervention can begin — and early intervention leads to significantly better outcomes in communication, social skills, and overall development.

Every child develops at their own pace, so missing one milestone doesn't necessarily mean your child has autism. However, if you notice several of the signs listed below, it's important to talk to your pediatrician right away.
